Pamela Shoda, N.P. |
Pam recently graduated from the Purdue University
Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Over 106,000
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) can be found in
every medical and surgical specialty. Pam
received her Master of Science Nursing degree
from Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, Indiana,
and she has a long history of providing nursing
care in Fort Wayne at Summit Plastic Surgery,
Parkview Hospital, and Lutheran Hospital.
Primary care specialties,
such as family practice, pediatrics, and obstetrics
and gynecology employ the majority of NPs,
but many NPs also work in subspecialties such
as dermatology. Each nurse practitioner completes
training as a Registered Nurse (RN) and then
completes additional courses and specialized
training. Nurse Practitioners provide a wide
variety of services, including diagnosing
illness, writing prescriptions, ordering and
interpreting lab tests, wound suturing, and
medical or surgical treatment of a wide variety
of clinical diseases. Nurse practitioners
can work with or without the supervision of
a physician. At Fort Wayne Dermatology Consultants,
Pam will be working closely with us to provide
you with high quality and empathetic skin
care.
